    To demonstrate plant growth towards light.

     


    Apparatus

    Flask, water, wire mesh, germinating seeds, cardboard box.

    Procedure

    1.        Fill flask with water

    2.        Cover with wire mesh

    3.        Place germinating seeds on wire mesh

    4.        Keep in one side open cardboard box

    5.        Face box towards light

    6.        Shoots bend towards light

    7.        Rotate flask opposite

  • Observation

  • Shoots bend towards light showing positive phototropism.
    Even after rotation, shoots again grow towards light.

     Result: Light influences the direction of shoot growth.
